What is M.M.A. ?

M.M.A. is exactly what it says its a mix of different martial arts blended together to make a fighting system. Most practitioners have a favoured discipline but to be a successful M.M.A. fighter you must train in them all.

M.M.A. was brought to the lime light by the UFC back in 1993 and has now been declared the world fastest growing sport. Here at Urban Disturbance Fife we have many coaches with a wide range of knowledge in different disciplines giving the students a great training base and adding many skills making them  better competitors or fighters,we have students training only for fitness,some for self defence or students wishing to fight.

We at Urban will never rush students in to fights or put pressure on anyone to compete,it is purely by choice

Monday’s Class

M.M.A. class incorporating take-downs, cage work, scrambles, clinch and ground & pound.

Tuesday Class

MMA Stand up incorporating pad drills ,technical and sparring

Wednesday’s Class

Ground-work/submission grappling/Wrestling  class incorporating Jujitsu, Sub-Grappling ,Judo and wrestling. This is where we learn to finish/submit or take a position to strike or stand back-up.

Thursdays Class

MMA stand up Technical and sparring

Friday’s Class

M.M.A Ground and pound and judo

Saturday Class

Open mat where we practice both stand-up and M.M.A. full sparring. Anyone is welcome to attend this class to amalgamate the Monday and Wednesday night classes skills.There is no tuition on this day its a time where you can practice at your own speed and steal tips off other members .

What Do I Need to Bring to Train M.M.A at Urban Disturbance Fife

We do not recommend any student rushing out and buying a shed load of Kit,We would rather you tried out the classes and purchased equipment as you need it and if your sure M.M.A is for you,we have a limited amount of spare gloves and shin pads etc that are free to use until you have made your mind up.

Basics Required Are;-

A gum shield and groin guard will be your first purchase but please wait till you have attended.
